A great afternoon at the Summer Alumni Game
We had the pleasure of being in attendance at the club's fifth annual Summer Alumni Game, held on Aug. 2 at Hewlett High School, and it was a genuinely good afternoon. Watching the players compete — current squads alongside alumni who came back for it — was a reminder of how much the club means to the families around it.
What stood out just as much was the crowd. Neighbors, families and friends filled the stands, and that energy was wonderful to see. Events like this are what a community actually looks like when it shows up for its kids.
An alumni game is its own kind of measure, too. Players don't come back for a club that was just somewhere they passed through. They come back because it meant something, and because the people running it made it worth returning to.
